Massacre survivors framed as liars: Arapahoe County prosecutors expressed explicit concern this week about conspiracy theorists swarming around the tragic shooting in Aurora, Colo.

These events, prosecutors said, “include relentless contacts by proponents of purported ‘conspiracies’ who have contacted the victims in this case, some of whom have even gone so far as to recruit other members of the public to contact the victims and to publicly post maps with the home addresses and phone numbers of the victims on various social-media sites.”

Have we become overly-prone to thinking strings are being pulled by mysterious powers in instances of tragedy, or do you think there should be greater scrutiny of events taken at face value?
